African National Congress (ANC) chairperson Gwede Mantashe has made it clear that the party has no plans to disband its national executive committee (NEC).
Mantashe was responding to a 135-page document drafted by retired military officials on the state of the ANC.
“We will engage with any group in the ANC that raises issues and give them answers. But the point they’re (ANC cadres) making, in particular to the NEC.

“We raised it upfront, that we don’t think we can put that up for a group to meet and then decide to disband the NEC. The NEC of the ANC is the supreme body of the ANC between conferences.”
Mantashe moved to clarify the ANC’s position on retired general Mojo Motau and his ANC cadres summit.
