ANC official gunned down in KZN

An African National Congress (ANC) branch secretary has been shot and killed in KwaZulu-Natal.

Sifiso Mlambo was shot whilst assisting a woman offload goods from her vehicle in eMpembeni near eSikhaleni in Richards Bay on Wednesday.
Provincial police spokesperson Tembeka Mbhele says an unknown man opened fire, fatally wounding the ANC official.
"Whilst offloading the boot with this woman then an unknown suspect emerged and fired shots towards him. He was once to the body and when tried running away he shot to the head."
Mlambo died in a local clinic.
"A murder case are being investigated and the motive is still unknown. For the moment it is subjected to investigations."
In November last year an unknown number of suspects who shot and killed the deputy regional secretary of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Moses Mabhida Region, Sthe Mhlongo.
The Moerane Commission of Inquiry is proving the spate of politically-motivated killings in the province.
A police task team is also trying to get to the bottom of the killings.
