ANC policy conference a waste of time: MK Vets
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
The Umkhonto We Sizwe (MK) Steering Committee says they will not take part in the upcoming ANC policy conference.
The committee's Thabang Makwetla briefed the media earlier this morning.
"We are not going to be participating in that conference. The question was directly put to us and the answer is 'no'," says Makwetla.
Makwetla says the policy conference is a costly distraction which won't solve the issues bedevilling the governing party.
Makwetla believes the conference is a waste of time since it does has not have any decision making powers.
"We are three weeks ahead of the policy conference. There is no way that anything can be done to still get a meaningful two-day consultative conference to take place before that policy conference at the end of the month."
