ANC now says Molefe will not be sworn in on Wednesday

The African National Congress (ANC) in Parliament has retracted its statement that former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe will be sworn in as an MP on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Nonceba Mhlauli says the Office of the Speaker is yet to confirm the time and date.
Mhlauli says the ANC caucus is still to decide which committee Molefe will serve in.
"As the ANC caucus comrade Molefe will only be deployed in a committee once he is sworn in. The caucus leadership and Molefe will sit down and decide which committee he will be best suited to serve on," Mhlauli says.
This is what she had initially told Jacaranda FM News:
In a later interview, Mhlauli then said the ANC in Parliament does not issue statements regarding the swearing in of MP's.

Amid speculation that Molefe is will soon be moved into a cabinet position, Mhlauli also confirmed ANC MP Dr Makhosi Khoza has been moved from the standing committee on finance to the Public Service and administration committee.
Mhlauli refused to comment on whether Khoza was moved to make space for Molefe, but did say that Khoza was moved after an MP resigned from the standing committee on public service and administration.
