ANC will 'fight' hard to win KZN - Mashatile
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile says the ANC will put up a solid fight to win KwaZulu Natal province.
Mashatile spoke during a campaign in Umlazi, west of Durban on Friday.
The party faces tough competition from rival Inkatha Freedom Party and new kid on the block MK Party led by former President Jacob Zuma.
The former statesman has caused sleepless nights for the ANC in KZN which grapples with service delivery challenges ahead of the 29 May general election.
Mashatile says the ANC is not shaken by the contestation of new parties.
"We are a democratic country and people have a right to form parties, they have a right to campaign, but as the ANC we must make sure that we do our work."
"Our campaign is very strong on the ground, our volunteers are determined. So we are going to put up a very strong fight to win this province."
