ANC wishes Epainette Mbeki speedy recovery
Updated | By Catrine Malan
The ANC in the Eastern Cape wished former president Thabo Mbeki's 98-year-old mother Epainette a speedy recovery on Thursday after she was admitted to hospital.

"Mrs Epainette Mbeki was admitted at an East London hospital after she complained about shortness of breath," provincial secretary Lubabalo Mabuyane said in a statement.
The African National Congress said it was because of the sacrifices that people like Epainette Mbeki made that the country was free.
"It is important that in times like these, we support our heroes and heroines with prayer and well wishes.
"It is important that she fully recovers from this sickness because our society still needs people like her," Mabuyane said.
