ANC: You can’t have two flags under the same constitution

The African National Congress (ANC) has welcomed the Equality Court judgment which ruled the gratuitous display of the apartheid flag as hate speech, harassment and unfair discrimination.

ANC spokesperson Dakota Legoete described Wednesday’s ruling as a victory for all South Africans.
"You can't have two flags flying under the same constitution, that is a crisis and cannot be promoted. It cannot be used for purposes of politics and to attract emotions, it is dangerous as it perpetuates a system that was disregarded by the United Nations.

"Using that flag is equal and tantamount to being corrupt as it is not in line with the Constitution."
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has call for 'Die Stem' to follow the banning of the old flag.
"It must be common cause that the apartheid national anthem must follow after its flag. The apartheid flag and its anthem belong to the same species and are two sides of the same coin. We call on President Cyril Ramaphosa to remove ‘Die Stem’ from our national anthem, forcing black people to sing ‘Die Stem’ is like asking them each day to salute the apartheid flag."
