ANCYL: Dlamini-Zuma must continue to build a stronger ANC

Members of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) and the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) has come out in their numbers to welcome former African Union Commission (AU) chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma at the OR Tambo International Airport.

Dlamini-Zuma ended her term at the AU this week.
The Youth League’s General Secretary Njabulo Nzuza says they want Dlamini-Zuma to help the ANC in the run-up to the elections in 2019 national.
Dlamini-Zuma is seen as a strong candidate to replace ANC President Jacob Zuma at the party’s National Conference in December.
“We are here to welcome one of the finest cadres of the movement, who was deployed at the AU. We are happy that she did such an excellent job representing South Africa. We are hoping she will continue building a stronger ANC ahead of the 2019 elections,” Nzuza says.

Nzuza says the man seen as a rival to Dlamini-Zuma to become the ANC’s next leader, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, has not been endorsed by any formal structure of the ruling party.
“Ramaphosa must refrain from saying he is available to succeed President Jacob Zuma. We cannot have people declaring their availability before they are nominated by formal structures,” he says
