ANCYL rejects fees announcement
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
The ANC Youth League has rejected the announcement by the Department of Higher Education on the fee increment for 2017.

The league's Secretary General, Njabulo Nzuza, said Minister Blade Nzimande must implement the ANC's resolution on free education taken in Mangaung.
Nzuza added that the minister is failing to implement ANC resolutions and he should be disciplined.
The ANCYL said the 8 percent fee increment should be halted until the presidential fees commission concludes its work.
"We strongly condemn deployees of the ANC from acting contrary to the decisions of NEC of the ANC. This is not acceptable. We, therefore, reiterate our positions on a moratorium on all university fees pending the outcome of the presidential commission on free education," he said.
Nzuza said they acknowledge that Nzimande's recommendation was an attempt towards the 'right direction', but said it was not enough.
"This moratorium must force the presidential commission to move with speed and draw already existing conclusion."
