ANCYL wants Hanekom removed as NDC head
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) is demanding the removal of former Minister of Tourism Derek Hanekom as the head of the party's National Disciplinary Committee (NDC).

This after Hanekom expressed concern about the state of the ANC, saying the ruling party is not guaranteed his vote in 2019.
Hanekom was fired as Minister of Tourism during President Jacob Zuma's controversial cabinet reshuffle.
"His comments come after he was recalled from Cabinet, which makes us think he is aggrieved. There should be no member of the ANC or leader who feels entitled to a position of government," says ANCYL spokesperson Mondli Mkhize.
Mkhize wants Hanekom to apologise.
"In our view he needs to apologise and the ANC NEC should take a decision to remove him as the head of the NDC. We do not believe he can will be able to give proper sanctions to members who come before him to be discipline."
