Another chapter in Oscar Pistorius' legal battles
Today will see yet another chapter in Oscar Pistorius' legal battles, as the state will apply for leave to appeal his sentence.
The Paralympian was initially convicted of culpable homicide after killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, but in December last year this was overturned to a conviction of murder.
His sentence of six years behind bars was criticised by many South Africans who thought it wasn't a harsh enough sentence.
In July the state indicated it would seek leave to appeal, as it believed the sentence handed down by judge Thokozile Masipa was shockingly lenient.

The defence in response indicated it believed the sentence was sufficient and 'enough is enough' - it argued that no other court would come to a different finding, and continuing would be an insult to Masipa.
Proceedings are set to start at 9am in the High Court in Johannesburg and Pistorius is not expected to be present in court.
