Another fuel price hike in August
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources confirmed that South African motorists will pay a bit more for their fuel in August.

The department's spokesperson Robert Maake says on Wednesday both grades of petrol will go up by 5 cents per litre, while diesel will increase by 45 cents a litre.
Illuminating paraffin would go up by 52 cents while gas will drop by 4 cent per kilogram.

Maake says the hike in the fuel price is mostly due to the higher international oil price.
"The main reason is the higher crude oil prices which led to the higher prices of petroleum and seeing that the rand appreciated against the dollar during the same period and it was able to save consumers around 10 cents per litre.”
