Another killing at notorious Glebelands Hostel
A 30-year-old woman has been shot and killed at the Glebelands Hostel in Umlazi.
KZN police spokesperson Jay Naicker says police stationed at the hostel immediately responded when they heard gunshots.
"Police found the woman who was shot dead in her home last night," says Naicker.
Naicker says the suspects fled the scene before police could arrive.
"We don't know the number of suspects that were involved nor do we know they're identities.
"None of the residents living in the same block as the woman could confirm their identities to police," Naicker says.
The Glebelands Hostel is notorious for political killings in the province.
The Moerane Commission of Inquiry has been established to look into dozens of political killings in the province and the hostel.
Recently the commission heard testimony that many of the hitmen stay in the hostel.
