Another legal setback for President Zuma
Updated | By Jacaranda FM news
The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has dismissed a bid by President Jacob Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to appeal the so-called spy tapes case.
Zuma and the NPA were seeking to appeal a High Court in Pretoria ruling that the 2009 decision to drop the charges against the president was irrational.

Justice Eric Leach has also ordered the NPA and Zuma to pay the costs of the application.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) first brought the application eight years ago, claiming the 2009 decision by the NPA to drop the 783 charges against the President was irrational.
The second highest court in the land ruled it cannot fault the earlier High Court ruling, that the charges against the president should be re-instated.
NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku says they will only comment once they have studied the judgement.
