Anti-racism week kicks off

It has been more than two decades since Apartheid ended and the Anti-Racism Network of South Africa (ARNSA) said deep divisions still remain in South African society.

The network, representing more than 80 national organisations, is behind Anti-Racism Week which begins on Monday.

The campaign aims to tackle racism head on, encouraging South Africans to speak out against it and take action to stop racial discrimination.

Sean Moodley is the national convener of ARNSA and said South Africa belongs to everyone.

"South Africa belongs to all - both black and white - because, I think, it is the best country in the world. We have wonderful country called South Africa. We've got to make sure we protect it and the way to protect it is to come together and stand up and take racism on," Moodley said.
