Assault charges withdrawn against Babes Wodumo
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that assault charges have been withdrawn against popular artist Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane and her co-accused.

Simelane and her sister Nondumiso Simelane, together with fellow artist Thobeka 'Tipcee' Ndaba, appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The trio allegedly beat up a woman at a Durban hotel.
NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara says the charges have been withdrawn as the trio and the complainant will have their matter settled out of court.
"The charges were withdrawn against the three accused, following the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) between the complainant and the accused, so they have resolved their matter amicably.”
The case was opened days after a video emerged showing Babes being assaulted went viral.
The video depicted her being abused by her producer boyfriend Mandla Maphumulo, known as Mampintsha.
