[AUDIO]: MDC split leaves Zim vulnerable
Updated | By Catrine Malan
Morgan Tsvangaria has been suspended from his position as president of political party MDC.
This course of action has led to a power battle within Zimbabwe’s only opposition party leaving the country with no voice against the labelled authoritarian ruling party Zanu-Pf.
Tsvangaria's suspension follows the following allegations:
- MDC was deviating from democratic principles under his rule.
- The party believes MDC lost last year’s election because Tsvangaria was not the best candidate.
- Tsvangaria has been president of MDC since its formation in 2000 which paints him as power hungry.
What MDC in-fighting means for Zimbabwe:
- Labelled authoritarian leading party Zanu-Pf along with the state-run police force will be uncontested.
The MDC power battle leaves the people of Zimbabwe hopeless because there will be no voice against Zanu-pf.
