Suspended Cosatu General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi pitched up in Randburg on Monday afternoon, where he addressed hundreds of striking workers belonging to the Metal Workers Union. They kicked off a nation wide strike on Monday - that include petrol attendants and workers in the auto repair sector.
Vavi told the workers he was there as an ordinary South African and pledged his support to the workers who work hard under difficult economic challenges to earn a living, while bosses make profits and "die from overeating while workers die from hunger".
NUMSA is in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday, to apply that Vavi's suspension by Cosatu be set aside.
