Baby's decapitated body found in Umhlanga
Updated | By Laila Majiet
A baby with its head and genitals removed was found near Durban’s upmarket Umhlanga Beach on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said the origin of the baby was unknown and police were investigating. Because the genitals had been removed the baby’s sex could not immediately be determined.
The head and genitals were not found.
The baby was found in a walkway to the beach between two luxury complexes.
Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said paramedics estimated that the baby was about two months old. He said paramedics were called to the scene by police.
