Beware: One ring scam call can cost you

Cellphone users have been warned.
A number of South Africans have taken to social media, outraged about receiving missed calls from international numbers.
Those who have returned the calls, are furious they did, after being billed excessive amounts even if just on the line for a short time.
Cell C has since issued a scam alert warning.
South Africans have reported receiving calls from the following country codes:
- Burundi (+257)
- Malawi (+265)
- Pakistan (+92)
- Russia (+7)
- Nigeria (+234)
- Tunisia (+216)
- Belarus (+375)
Vodacom has also issued an advisory about the scam.

Social media has been flooded with tweets about the scam.
