Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
This year's Nelson Mandela Lecture aims to find sustainable solutions for "living together" as South Africans.
The 14th annual lecture will be delivered by Microsoft founder Bill Gates on Sunday in Pretoria, on the eve of Mandela Day. The annual lecture is in honour of Mandela and aims to raise topical issues affecting South Africa, Africa and the rest of the world.
More than 3000 people are expected to attend the lecture, which will be held at the University of Pretoria's Mamelodi Campus.
This year's lecture is being dedicated to the many residents of the township who gave their lives in the struggle for liberation and democracy in the country.
Gates is expected to share his vision of a better world for all.

"How do we as a people right the centuries of wrongs in history and how do we build on what is good? Now, in order for these sustainable solutions to be found we have to use research, grassroots knowledge, technology and various types of human capacity. We also have to make sure that any solution must place humanity and human dignity at the forefront. It is within this context then that Bill Gates has been invited to be our 14th annual speaker," NMF Board member Nikiwe Bikitsha said.
