Blade Nzimande rushed to hospital
Updated | By Amo Maledu
The South African Communist Party (SACP) general secretary
Blade Nzimande has been hospitalised.

Nzimande was taken to hospital after delivering his message of support at the African National Congress' (ANC) 54th elective conference on Monday.
SACP spokesperson Alex Mashilo says Nzimande fell ill due to something he ate or drank at the conference.
''There is certainly something Mr Nzimande may have consumed at conference resulting in the problems he experienced.''
Mashilo doesn’t believe Nzimande was poisoned.
''They are many ways in which food poisoning might occur.
''It might not necessarily be a deliberately targeted move, we don't want to raise or press panic buttons at the moment.
''We all ate the food at the conference so we will allow medical examinations to guide us.''
On Monday Nzimande launched a scathing assessment of the state of the ANC, calling on the leadership to be more honest in dealing with the challenges facing both the ANC and the country.
