BMA to extend operating hours this Easter
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Border Management Authority said it would be extending operating hours at critical ports of entry during the Easter holidays.

This was aimed at easing traffic at the ports as the volume of travellers entering and exiting the country was expected to increase during this period.
BMA Commissioner Michael Masiapato briefed the media in Pretoria on Thursday morning, where he announced that the extension was agreed to by authorities in Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, eSwatini, Namibia, and Botswana.
Borders that will extend operating hours include Groblersbridge, Kosibay, Jeppes Reef, Mahamba, Sanipass and Van Rooyensgate amongst others.
"The BMA will increase deployments at all ports, especially on the eve of Easter, with high-visibility personnel and rapid response teams," Masiapato said.
He said BMA senior managers will be deployed to critical ports between the 15th and 24th of April 2025.
These include Lebombo, Beit Bridge, Kopfontein, OR Tambo International, Cape Town International, Oshoek, Ficksburg, and Maseru Bridge.
