BMA: Measures in place to prevent spread of Mpox
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The Border Management Authority says it's put measures in place at all ports of entry amid the rise in Mpox cases.

There are currently 13 confirmed cases, with two deaths reported in Gauteng and KZN.
The BMA says the plan includes the deployment of additional health officers.
The authority's Mmemme Mogotsi says systems are in place to detect people with elevated temperatures and those presenting with other symptoms.
She says they have also set up a designated isolation room.
'This is specifically for people that are coming in. The guidance is given by the Department of Health in terms of how we deal with outgoing passengers and Incoming passengers.
“We are steady in terms of checking temperatures. We have to win travellers at the ports of entry to check whether they have elevated temperatures or not.
We also engage with the Department of Health, which gives us guidelines to assist those who might present to us as they are leaving the country.”
