Bob Hewitt reports for jail sentence, victim reacts

Convicted child abuser and former tennis star Bob Hewitt on Tuesday reported to St Albans Correctional Facility in Port Elizabeth to start his six year jail term.

Women and Men Against Child Abuse director Miranda Friedmann was at the facility this morning.
"This is no holiday camp, this is a proper prison and it is the punishment he deserves for his crimes. He did everything he could to evade justice, today proves that he couldn't. I hope this acts as some comfort and some small victory for those who suffered at his hands," Friedmann said.
Twiggy Tolken, one of Hewitt's victims, said this is a good lesson to people that you will pay for your crimes.
"I know that there have been a few comments that he is so old. Yes, maybe he is old and he will maybe spend six years in prison, but don't forget the fact that when this happened to me, I was 12 years-old and I have lived with this for the last 35 years and it is something I will never forget. So, my sentence of having to live with this is much longer than his," Tolken said.
