Bodies found in Benoni Mineshaft
Five bodies have been discovered at a mineshaft in Benoni on Wednesday.
Gauteng police spokesperson Katlego Mogale says they have opened five cases of murder and are appealing to the public for any information.
"Police received information which led them to the mineshaft in Benoni and five bodies were discovered," she says.
Mogale could not confirm if the bodies are those of illegal miners.
She says they are looking for any information of missing persons that might be linked to the discovered bodies.
