The community of Vlakfontein,
south of Johannesburg, is reeling following the discovery of the bodies of
three women and four young children.

The bodies were discovered on Monday.
Gauteng police’s Mavela Masondo says they received a complaint from community members about a stench emanating from a house.
Upon arrival, police found the bodies of seven people all buried beneath the sand in two separate rooms in the house.

The bodies of a woman and three children were found in one of the bedrooms, while three more bodies - two women and a child – were discovered in a backroom.
"A man alleged to have been staying with the deceased has since been taken in by the police for questioning," Masondo says.
He adds that they are searching for a man named Sibusiso Ernest Khoza, who police believe could be of assistance with the investigation.
