Body of 8-year-old found in pit toilet

A family member has been arrested
in connection with the killing of an eight-year-old child in KwaZulu-Natal.
The child was reported missing at Elandslaagte Police in Baldaskraal six days ago.
KwaZulu-Natal's police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the child's body was found Thursday morning in Driefontein.
Police took in the 36-year-old family member in for further questioning in the early hours of Thursday morning.
"He took the police where he killed and chopped the child into pieces and dumped the child in three pit toilets," says Zwane.
The 36-year-old is charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrates Court soon.
