Updated | By Laila Majiet
The body of a man has been found in an abandoned vehicle on the N1 in Johannesburg.

Gauteng police say the man had been shot.
Provincial police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says officers were informed that the vehicle had been involved in a house robbery in Randpark Ridge.
"They spotted the vehicle on the N1 and found it abandoned. One person who was shot was found in the car. He had passed away," Makhubele says.
It is suspected that the homeowner of the burgled home had shot at the suspects as they fled.
There are reports that three other suspects managed to flee the scene.
A case of murder and carjacking is being investigated.
Makhubele says the abandoned vehicle had been hijacked in Honeydew.
