Body found of man who drowned in Apies river

Tshwane emergency services has confirmed the recovery of the body of a man who drowned in the Apies river on Friday.
The body was recovered by police K9 and Diving Unit near Wonderboom Junction on Sunday afteroon.
Spokesperson Charles Mabaso says search and rescue unit is searching for an unconfirmed number of people were reported to have been swept away by a stream in Olievenhoutbosch.
"There has not been a significant number of households that reported flooding, this morning a house in Pretoria West reported that water came into the house was at about ankle level.
"The Rabie and End Street low water bridge in Centurion. Flooding of roads in Rooihuskraal Road and Roger Dyson Road in Pretoria West was reported.
"Over the weekend, a number of trees were reported to have fallen on roads in Centurion and Valhalla, community volunteer groups assisted in clearing the roads.”
Mabaso says motorists should avoid the Snake Valley Road near the air force base due to localised flooding.
