Body of toddler found in Orange Farm veld

The body of a missing three-year-old girl was discovered in Orange Farm, south of Johannesburg, on Thursday.

Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says a waste collector found the body in a dustbin in the veld.

This comes amid several high-profile incidents of femicide and concern over a spike in gender-based violence, which President Cyril Ramaphosa apologising to women and children.

Makhubela says there have been no arrests as yet.
"Police are calling on anyone who might have information on how the incident happened of the killing of the three-year-old girl in Orange Farm.
"The police haven't arrested anybody yet and we are urging to anyone who might have information to go to the nearest police station," urges Makhubele.
