A passer-by discovered the body of two-year-old Thato Ralesite on Tuesday evening in a grazing field in Myra Village, North West.
Baby Ralesite was last seen playing outside her aunt’s home last week Saturday.
She went missing wearing a red tracksuit top, cream trousers and pink tekkies.
Following her disappearance, police, family and community members began a search operation around the village without success.
The discovery of her body came after the police’s K9 and mounted units were added to the search party.
"A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of her death,” said provincial police spokesperson Adele Myburgh.
