Bogus cop arrested in Joburg

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Johannesburg for allegedly impersonating a police officer, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
Warrant Officer Xoli Mbele said the man was arrested on Monday at the corner of Wanderers and Bree streets.
"Police were busy with their routine crime prevention duties when they were alerted by a community member about a bogus policeman."
He said the police stopped and searched the man, and found a fake police appointment card.
The man had typed his name on a white paper, pasted his photo and the police logo on it, and then pasted his paper on top of a bank stop card.
Mbele appealed to anyone robbed by a bogus policeman to come forward and lay charges.
