Bonang settles tax case
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The tax fraud case against TV personality Bonang Matheba was struck off the roll at the Johannesburg
Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday.
Matheba was facing 15 charges after she allegedly failed to file her tax returns from 2008-2017 but chose to pay an admission of guilt fine of R30 000.
Early in October, a bench warrant was served on the socialite after she failed to appear in court.
The state had run into problems at the beginning of the case as the summons were not served personally to Matheba but to her legal team.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed that Matheba paid the fine and requested the matter be removed from the roll.
Matheba still has to file her tax returns before the South African Revenue Services (SARS) can determine whether she should pay all her taxes.
