Bongani Bongo’s ex-wife Sandile Nkosi appears in court on corruption charge

Bongani Bongo’s former wife Sandile Nkosi handed herself to the Hawks on Monday morning on charges of corruption and money laundering.
Nkosi briefly appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was released on R10 000 bail.
She joins the African National Congress (ANC) MP and former minister of state security and his ten co-accused in the dock.
They are facing charges of corruption, fraud, theft, money laundering and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
National Prosecuting spokesperson, Sipho Ngwema says Nkosi is alleged to have received R1 milion from Singwane Attorneys.

"This after the Mpumalanga Department of Human Settlement paid R52milion to Singwane Attorneys, without any basis for such payment.
"She never had any business dealings with Singwane Attorneys nor was she a client who gave Singwane Attorney's instructions to institute a civil action for claim of any money."
Ngwema says Singwane Atttorneys were appointed by the DoHS on recommendations by Bongo.
"Furthermore, payments by the DoHS to Singwane Attorneys were recommended by Bongo."
Nkosi and her co-accused will appear in court again on May 4.
