Boy (11) drowns in Limpopo dam

An 11-year-old boy drowned at the Nsami dam, formerly known as Hudson Ntsanwisi dam, on Thursday.
The boy was swimming together with five other children on Thursday afternoon when the incident occurred.

Greater Giyani Municipality spokesperson, Steven Mavunda says the community only became aware of the incident late in the evening.
“The boy is from a village called Thomo,” says Mavunda.
“The five other boys only reported the missing boy very late in the evening.”
Mavunda has urged parents to be alert of the whereabouts of their children.
