Brand SA: Govt should focus on land reform post-coronavirus
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Brand SA wants the government to focus on addressing land reform once it has dealt withthe coronavirus pandemic.

The organisation’s chairperson Thandi Tobias says there are several economic opportunities it would like the country to take advantage of once Covid-19 has been brought under control.
“We would like to see South Africa continue to extend the African free trade area as we have formed partnerships. Also for South Africa to provide financial assistance where it does not provide it, to grow the economy.”
Tobias says while Brand SA is concerned over the recent downgrades by credit rating agencies Moody’s and Fitch, it believes there is an opportunity to strengthen investments in Africa.
“We believe that this is going to strengthen growth in forging partnerships both in the African continent and even globally. And also to improve different economic sectors; the economic sector and the agriculture sector, and our financial industry to be able to pat into partnership going ahead to strengthen the economy.”
Tobias has urged South Africa to come up with creative ideas to grow the economy once the pandemic is over, such as the manufacturing of masks and sanitisers.
