ROODEPOORT PRIMARY CLOSED: It's the first school morning since Gauteng premier David Makhura on Friday afternoon suspended all learning at the Roodepoort Primary school. This comes after an Imbizo with teachers and the community last week following months of racial tension over the appointment of a new principal. Recent incidents of violence prompted Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi to appoint additional security. This morning pupils will be bussed to a school in the neighbouring Tshepisong township until the premier is convinced that peace has been restored. Silindelo Masekane is in Roodepoort this morning and spoke to these concerned parents.

MARIKANA MASSACRE COMMEMORATED: As the country remembered the Marikana Massacre, yesterday exactly three years ago, the Farlam Commission of Inquiry Report emerged as a bone of contention among mine workers and their families. Thousands of people gathered at the koppie where the most brutal attacks on civilians, in democratic South Africa, took place. Our reporter, Karabo Ngoepe was there as candles were lit to remember the dead and speakers, like EFF leader, Julius Malema expressed anger.

AMCU LASHES OUT: The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union says it will challenge any proposal to limit the number of days people can embark on protest action following disputes with their employers. Government, along with business and the labour sector have been holding talks at the National Economic Development and Labour Council to come up with a minimum wage and to try find an amicable way to resolve the issue of prolonged strikes as they impact the economy negatively. Amcu President Joseph Mathunjwa yesterday said they would not be dictated to regarding the duration of their strikes.

COP KILLER WANTED: Police in Gauteng have identified one of the suspects in the killing of a policeman in Orange Farm earlier this month, but no arrests have yet been made. Constable Norman Muhlari was killed when on patrol at the local train station in the early hours of the morning. Video footage of the incident was later found at the scene. Here's Police Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
