OSCAR PISTORIUS BACK IN COURT FOR MURDER: Former Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius will appear in court Tuesday for a bail hearing that could put him back in prison after he was convicted of his girlfriend's murder on appeal. Supreme Court of Appeal judges last week found him guilty of murder and overturned his earlier conviction on the lesser charge of culpable homicide for shooting dead Reeva Steenkamp in 2013. Pistorius, 29, was released from jail in October and is under house arrest in Pretoria after serving one year of his five-year prison sentence for culpable homicide -- the equivalent of manslaughter. The National Prosecuting Authority's Luvuyo Mfaku has confirmed that Oscar Pistorius will appear in the High court in Pretoria today.

VANDERBIJPARK MURDER ACCUSED BACK IN COURT: The 39-year-old Fanie du Preez, who stands accused in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court of murdering his wife and two teenaged children in their family home last week, will appear in court again today. He briefly appeared in court yesterday and proceedings were postponed in order for Du Preez to get legal aid. Silindelo Masikane has more.

DONALD TRUMP SAYS BAN ALL MUSLIMS FROM ENTERING US: Republican presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump says the anti-terror speech that president Obama made from the Oval office on Sunday night was 'ridiculous". Obama said that a very small fraction of Moslem people supported terror groups like ISIS but Trump let rip, referring to himself in the third person.

PROTEST IN EKHURULENI: Traffic has been heavily disrupted this morning due to an ongoing protest at the intersection of Vereeniging road and the R550, south of Johannesburg. Ekurhuleni Metro Police say protesters started to gather in the early hours of this morning and have since barricaded parts of the road with burning tyres and large stones. But the Metro Police's Kobeli Mokheseng says although the protesters have so far been peaceful for the most part, he advised motorists to be vigilant and consider alternative routes.

TODAY IN HISTORY: The death of John Lennon still reverberates as a defining moment for a generation and for the music world and today 35 years ago, the music legend was killed. Lennon was gunned down infront of his swanky Manhattan apartment after returning from a recording session at midnight. Deranged fan, Mark David Chapman was arrested for the murderand sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. He was denied parole in August 2014.
