Breakthrough in FNB robbery

The Hawks have arrested two security officers for allegedly robbing an FNB branch last year.
According to the Hawks, they recovered an unlicensed firearm and ammunition from one of the of the suspects.
"It is alleged that the suspects conspired to rob the bank using their company resources. They apparently drilled a whole in the wall to gain access to the bank volt," the Hawks said.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu says 362 safety deposit boxes containing valuables like firearms, jewellery, money, and documents, were stolen.

Police followed on information and recovered only two hundred and fifty safety deposit boxes that were damaged, forced opened and emptied at an open field near FNB stadium three days after the robbery.
"The suspects appeared briefly before the Randburg Magistrates Court and the case was postponed to the 13th of February."
