BREAKING: Brian Molefe to leave Eskom
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Eskom CEO Brian Molefe has resigned.
He says in a statement that the State of Capture report has caused harm to the reputation of the power utility as well as to his own.
Molefe says he will leave Eskom on 1 January 2017 and is doing so voluntarily and that this move should not be seen as an admission of guilt.
Molefe lashes out at the report by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, accusing her of making observations based on an incomplete investigation.
He reiterates that the observations regarding his conduct are inaccurate and unfounded.
He also says he is confident when the time comes, he will prove his innocence and clear his name.
