Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant temporarily shut down
Updated | By Mapaballo Borotho
The City of Tshwane on Tuesday announced the temporary shutdown of the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant.
This city says this is due to the deteriorated raw water quality caused by the recent heavy rains.
City spokesperson Selby Bokaba says the city is closely monitoring the water quality.
"The situation will be monitored closely, and once the quality of the raw water improves, the treatment plant will be put back into operation."
“Several areas in the metro are expected to experience low pressure to no water, such as the Bronkhorstspruit Town, Cultura Park, Ekandustria, Ekangala, Masada, Rethabiseng, Riamarpark, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality and Zithobeni.”
Roaming water tankers are to be dispatched to all the affected areas.
