Bullet-ridden body of SANDF troop found in military vehicle in KZN

Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating the murder of a member of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
The 58-year-old man’s body was discovered in a military vehicle on the R618 road to St Lucia on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says the victim was found in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown and a case of murder has been opened at Mtubatuba SAPS for further investigation.”
The man’s identity has been hidden until the family has been notified.
SANDF spokesperson Mafi Mgobozi says while details remain sketchy, it’s understood he was attacked by unknown suspects on his way to work.
“Military police are also investigation what is the real cause of this attack.”
