Burglar injured in Boksburg shootout
A security guard and a suspected burglar are recovering in hospital following a shootout at a house in Boksburg on Sunday.
Netcare 911 Spokesperson Shawn Hirbst says the robber was shot in the neck and is in a critical condition at a local hospital.
“An adult male, alleged to be the robber and as well as an adult male armed response officer had both sustained gunshot wounds.”
“The alleged armed robber sustained serious injuries and is on quite advance life-support interventions,” says Hirbst.
“The security guard sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on scene.”
The house owner was also rushed to hospital due to an undisclosed medical emergency.
