The leader of a failed coup in Burkina Faso is in talks in an unnamed embassy on handing himself in to the transitional government.
The leader of a failed coup in Burkina Faso was in talks Wednesday in an unnamed embassy on handing himself in to the transitional government that his elite army unit tried to unseat, the government said.
"General Gilbert Diendere has retreated to a diplomatic mission. Talks are ongoing on his handover to the interim authority," the government said in a statement, without specifying which embassy he was in.
