The Limpopo government has decided to suspend all Great North Transport buses with immediate effect.
One of the company's buses was involved in a fatal crash in George's Valley which claimed the lives of 10 people and left 54 injured.
Limpopo Transport MEC Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana said an inspection of the company's fleet has shown 14 buses were unroadworthy.
"The company's vehicles have been involved in at least four accidents since the beginning of the year," Mokaba-Phukwana said.
Management of Great North Transport told JacarandaFM News it would comment at a later stage.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
Those injured, including the bus driver, were taken to the Van Velden and Letaba hospitals.
One of the injured, 37 year-old Mpho Mahashe said he's lucky to be alive.
"The driver was speeding and then lost control of the vehicle. It all happened so fast. I have bruises and a broken arm."
