Buthelezi to remain in hospital amid ‘health complications’
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
The Buthelezi family has on Wednesday confirmed that Inkatha Freedom Party founder Mangosuthu Buthelezi will remain in hospital due to health complications.

Last month, the 94-year-old was re-admitted to hospital for routine tests and treatment for prolonged back pain.
He underwent a minor procedure for back pain management.
Family spokesperson Bhekuyise Buthelezi says well-wishers are discouraged from visiting the hospital.
“He has since developed a complication and therefore remains in hospital at this stage to receive the necessary care. The duration of his hospital stay will depend on how fast his body can recover from the complication.
“We appeal to the nation to allow time for his recovery and rest. Knowing the concern that is felt by the nation, we will continue to provide periodic updates.”
Buthelezi, who is also the Traditional Prime Minister to the AmaZulu Nation, will be celebrating his 95th birthday later this month.
