Calls for unity at ANC Limpopo conference
Updated | By Pieter van der Merwe
The ANC secretary-general addressed the party's provincial conference in Limpopo following attempts to have it declared unlawful.

"The alliance must not be united only at national level, the alliance must be united at all levels," ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule told the party's conference in Polokwane on Saturday.
His remarks came amid a number of provincial structures facing numerous challenges.
The Limpopo conference itself was the subject of an urgent court application only hours before Magashule delivered his remarks.
The South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg however struck the application - which challenged the legitimacy of the conference - from the roll due to a lack of urgency.
Magashule told delegates every member of the party has a responsibility to serve in their current capacity, warning, some use their elected positions to "abuse their power".
To achieve unity, Magashule said members need to adopt certain character traits: tolerance, inclusivity, patience, humility.
"We shall have to hold hands comrades, and ensure that we build this unity," said Magashule. "We must walk the talk."
