The police in Limpopo continue to call on parents and guardians to be more vigilant after another two children drowned in one of the province’s rivers.

The two boys, aged 12 and 13, drowned at Makgodu village outside Polokwane on Monday.
Tebogo Mofumadi (12) and 13-year-old Boitumelo Tshabalala were swimming with three friends at the time of the incident.
"It is alleged that in the process of swimming, there was a lightning that struck, and the two boys drowned. The other three survivors were taken to the local hospital for medical treatment," says police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba.
He says the cause of death is still to be determined by postmortem results.
In a separate incident, a four-year-old girl died from choking on a marula fruit at Kauletsi village in Lephalale on Thursday.
"According to reports, the deceased, identified as Phologo Machaba, was among a group of children playing when she ingested a marula fruit,” said Ledwaba.
"Regrettably, the fruit became logged in her throat and caused her to choke.”
