Canoeist found dead
A man was found dead in the Klipdrift dam outside Potchefstroom in North West on Tuesday, paramedics said.
The man, who was believed to be in his late 40s, went missing during a canoe trip on Saturday, said ER24 spokeswoman Luyanda Majija.
She said a search and rescue operation was launched after his family alerted the fire department.
"The squad searched the dam and found the man dead on Tuesday," said Majija. As he was still wearing his life jacket, it was not known how he drowned.
Police were investigating.
